The Baage-Bahu gardens are part of the Bahu Fort complex, which dates back to the 9th century and was expanded and renovated by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. The fort and its gardens were strategically positioned to serve as a defense mechanism as well as a retreat, overlooking the Tawi River and the surrounding landscape.
